Khang Nguyen

Chef Khang Nguyen is a culinary alchemist, transforming the vibrant flavors and rich heritage of Asian cuisine into innovative and elevated dishes. With over 8 years of experience, Chef Khang has honed his craft in some of the most prestigious kitchens in the city, including The Recess Room, Gem Dining, and Nep Cafe.

Chef Khang Nguyen’s culinary philosophy is rooted in the freshness and quality of ingredients. He sources locally and seasonally, ensuring that each dish is a celebration of the natural flavors and textures that define Asian cuisine. Drawing inspiration from the bold spices of Thai cuisine, the delicate balance of flavors in Vietnamese dishes, the artful presentation of Japanese cuisine, the comforting simplicity of Italian classics, and the robust flavors of American fare, Chef Khang takes pride in crafting dishes that surprise and delight the palate.

Chef Khang’s accomplishments are a testament to his skill and passion for the culinary arts. He played a key role in the successful opening and operation of Nep, a Vietnamese breakfast and brunch haven, and Gem Dining, a sophisticated Southeast Asian fine dining establishment. Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by the 2021 and 2022 pandemic, the restaurants did not only endure but thrived, becoming beacons of culinary delight and resiliency.

Now, Chef Khang is eager to embark on a new chapter. He envisions a menu that showcases his elevated Vietnamese fusion cuisine, highlighting the vibrant flavors and diverse culinary traditions of Vietnam. Chef Khang is passionate about exploring the enchanting world of Vietnamese cuisine and creating an unforgettable dining experience that bridges cultures and leaves a lasting impression on guests’ taste buds.

Tyler Le

With over 14 years of global client management experience, Tyler has had the privilege of working with Fortune 500 clients across various industries. He successfully led client engagements in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia while working at Deloitte and Dell Software.

His journey into entrepreneurship began in Ireland, co-founding a startup that specialized in software procurement consulting, eventually acquired by a global consulting firm. Tyler’s entrepreneurial spirit further blossomed with COCON, the Netherland’s first luxury on-demand mobile wellness platform based in Amsterdam. At both start-ups, Tyler managed startup operations, technology, and finances – including capital raising and acquisition.

As a first-generation immigrant and global citizen having lived in seven countries, Tyler’s love for culinary exploration drives his ambition to open a restaurant. This passion, combined with his desire to share exceptional food, motivates him to open a restaurant that not only celebrates Vietnamese culture but also elevates and modernizes traditional dishes. His ultimate goal is to create a welcoming community space where people can connect, enjoy exceptional cuisine, and build enduring relationships across generations and cultures.

Customer Service Manager

Lyndsy Vuong

Lyndsy is a seasoned business leader with over 22 years of experience in the hospitality and retail industries. She is skilled in strategic management, supply chain management, and customer service.

Lyndsy immigrated to the United States from Vietnam in 1989. She began her career in the hospitality industry as a server at a Chinese restaurant in Pennsylvania. After graduating from college, she worked as a supply planner for a large retail company. In this role, she was responsible for developing and implementing supply chain strategies.

In 2008, Lyndsy opened her first nail salon shop. She successfully managed the business for 11 years before opening her second salon in 2019. Both salons are still operating today.
Technology Manager

Alex Do

Alex is a third-generation entrepreneur with a passion for food, technology, and design. She grew up in a family of entrepreneurs in Vietnam, and she learned the value of hard work and innovation from a young age.

Alex holds a BA in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and an MS in Computer Engineering from UCLA. She has over a decade of experience in the technology industry, working at Google in Ads, Analytics, and Maps. In this role, she gained significant expertise in marketing, advertising, and technology.

In her current role as Marketing and Technology Manager at Betel Leaf, Alex is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract customers, increase brand awareness, and drive sales. She also manages the restaurant’s technology infrastructure, including POS systems, online ordering platforms, and website maintenance.

Guilherme Puglia

Guilherme, a seasoned computer scientist with a decade and a half of experience in the tech industry, brings to the table a unique blend of technical prowess and a genuine desire to build meaningful connections. Driven by a deep fascination for the transformative power of technology, Guilherme has dedicated his career to developing innovative solutions that enhance the way we interact with the digital world.

From Search and Digital Advertising to Analytics platforms, Guilherme has held several technical leadership roles, shaping the technological advancements of renowned companies in these areas. His expertise lies in identifying and leveraging emerging technologies to create engaging and impactful user experiences.

Beyond the realm of technology, Guilherme cherishes the time spent with loved ones, engaging in activities that forge lasting memories. Whether it’s indulging in shared hobbies, learning from their experiences, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Guilherme finds joy in nurturing these precious relationships.
